In my background as an Army Combat Medic, a Federal Air Marshal, and a 17+ year career as a high threat security contractor with Blackwater and Triple Canopy I have learned one very important lesson in life...If you want to be a leader of men, and have them respect you, and be operating in dangerous and fast paced changing environments you HAVE to look, and be able to do, what you say you are going to do and inspire confidence in not only your men but the people that you are there to protect.

Embarrassing my younger team mates! As a 58 year old contractor working in Iraq I am surrounded by younger knuckle-draggers and prior service personnel. I pride myself in being able to embarrass any and all younger contractors anywhere, anytime. Be it in the gym, on the field, or on the range throwing lead...one thing prevails, the younger ones will NEVER beat me. Many try, and many fail. I train to beat my men and lead from the front. Weights, cardio, lots of stretching (trust me on this guys!)

As well as being a contractor overseas I am also a beekeeper and I own a small company out of St. Petersburg, FL called The Urban Bee Company. Initially my goal was to use the prize money to bolster my bee business but recently a friend of mine, a former Marine, and a security contractor medic named Michael Ryan Burke was tragically killed in a sudden and violent armed robbery. Michael was an inspiration and aided many charities and causes. My prize money will go to a foundation in his name.
