Receive Text UpdatesI was always skinny growing up. I could not make myself taller so I got into weight training to get bigger and stronger. I picked up M&F and started doing push ups/sit ups and dips in my room. Saved my lawn mowing money and got my first weight set. It became part of my everyday life. Seeing the results made me want to work even harder. When I turned 60 I realized I was starting to get to the home stretch. Did I want to sprint or just coast? Sprint! My workouts now are greater focused.
What’s your favorite way to train or stay fit?4 day split. 3 days of intense resistance and the 4th day cardio and core. Biceps/Triceps, Shoulders/Legs, Pecs/Back. I keep changing up the exercises to keep it interesting and prevent feeling a plateau. For me diet is always on my mind, but I enjoy eating but I eat foods in moderation while I focus on protein. It’s my favorite way to train because it is how I live my life. I push myself with each workout as if it is my last…I may not be getting younger but I am still getting better.
What would you do with $20,000?That is probably the toughest question and I would need to give it some thought. But to be honest (and boring) I would probably put it towards bills and retirement. I would also make a donation to my church and maybe treat myself to some new gym equipment. I have a small gym that I work out at in my basement (a result of Covid when the gyms closed). Finally, I would make sure my family was taken care of if they needed anything. Greek families come first.
