The way I keep the gas running for health and fitness is always wanting to perform better than I did the previous day. Initially, I wanted to look like a warrior from the “300” movie. I even remember stating, “I’m going to look like that when I’m older,” but my cousin doubted me. Right then and there, it was the first time I’ve ever been doubted. The word doubt has never approached me and when it did my father made it apparent that hard work runs deeper than our blood and roots. Hence, my drive.

My bread and butter of training would be calisthenics. This way of training has been gracious to me because of the way it humbles anyone’s ego. The “biggest and baddest” gym bros love to boast how much weight they can lift up and down. Some of them are quite impressive with their capabilities, but when asked to do a simple pull-up, crickets chirp. Is it because it’s simple? Is it because it involves your whole body? With $20,000 at your fingertips- it feels like the world is in your hands. However, $20,000 in mine is a blessing. I recently just began law school and was anxious about funding it myself. So, my mother sent me the link to sign up for Mr. Health & Fitness and when I saw that there is $20,000 on the line. I instantly knew that this may be the blessing that I was praying for. If I win this amount; I will serve as an attorney for my community and fight for those who deserve a second chance.
